Want to get fit? Have an extra 2 months on your hands? Come try Rubble Fit™ by All Hands Volunteers. Rubble Fit™ is a unique combination of hard manual labor mixed with huge portions of dahl bhat.
The first component of Rubble Fit™ is rock management. Your typical day will include digging up rocks, shoveling rocks, lifting rocks, throwing rocks aka rock lining, wheelbarrowing loads of rock, and building rock walls. In the All Hands family this is affectionately called rubbling and may also include moving wood or dirt in the same manner as previously mentioned. You don’t need to buy any fancy equipment to participate in Rubble Fit™ as all required tools, not limited to the pick ax, shovel, hoe, wheelbarrow, rock bar, and sledge hammer, are provided by All Hands.
The second part of Rubble Fit™ is massive plates of dahl bhat (rice and lentils). Dahl baht is served for lunch everyday for the duration of your stay with All Hands. It is lovingly prepared by mothers and grandmothers all over Nepal and no meal is complete without Ama sneaking more rice onto your plate.
