I had read amazing things about their lava cake (pictured above) so I waited a bit and then ordered it as well. When it arrived, lets just say it was love at first bite. The warm, gooey, slightly bitter lava cake was paired with vanilla ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. Ahh, this is what dreams are made of. I would almost come back to Bangkok just for this. Almost.
Chu’s specialty is their high cocoa content (70-75%) single origin hot chocolate from places like Tanzania and Venezuela. I didn’t try any of the super dark stuff because I was afraid it would be too bitter for my liking. My chocolate fix alone cost me about $11 and was totally worth the minor heart palpitations that came along with it.
If you’re in Thailand and need a chocolate fix, check out Chu Chocolate Bar & Cafe in BKK, conveniently located just steps for the Asok BTS station.
