I recently came across both a blog post and a video about Baan Kang Wat, a new artist village in Chiang Mai. What caught my eye wasn’t the creative artwork in the shops, but the shops themselves. The smallest shops looked to be the size and design of an ideal tiny house. As one of my many dreams is to start a tiny house community here in Thailand a little trip across town was at the tops of my list for the weekend.

The style of the shops here reminded me of the shops on the Arcata Plaza where I bought Christmas presents for so many years and I couldn’t stop snapping photo after photo of the fun creations on display here. Photographing the tiny buildings was another story.
We liked the design of the 4 shops in the lower right corner, but because of the way they are situated it was difficult to get a decent photo of any of them. They all are two story buildings with a loft upstairs and are very open and airy. I hope one day we can build something similar.
