This month we are tackling the ever-growing “let’s do this/go here/eat here sometime” list and also revisiting a few places we’d visited individually or many months ago. I put an asterisk next to activities worth repeating.
If you missed last weeks explorations, you can check out them out here.
We went to Hauy Tung Tao and tried dancing shrimp.*
Dancing shrimp are live freshwater shrimp in a spicy chili sauce. Aroi maak.
I tried an herbal ball Thai massage.
We chatted with monks at Wat Chedi Luang.*
Our favorite time to go to Wat Chedi Luang is at night and this particular evening we ran into a group of shy monks. Their teacher wanted them to practice their English so we chatted with them for quite awhile.
I found my favorite coconut dessert while re-exploring my neighborhood market.*
Kanom sai ma praao- a tapioca flour sweet filled with toasted coconut.
I tried blood soup when we went out for “very local” food.
Yah, I only took one bite of it. It had good flavor, I just couldn’t get over how bloody it was.
