Mark, Pinky, and I took a beautiful drive out to Point Reyes National Seashore. This is one of their favorite spots on the coast and, after drooling over Marks gorgeous wildflower photos all spring, I had begged him to find a few flowers for me. He picked Chimney Rock for our morning excursion.
A beautiful, bright, sunny day. What the photo couldn’t capture is just how windy and COLD it was out here.
Mark and I checked out this sign before the hike and I pick out my target. I really wanted to find Pussy Ears, a type of Calochortus.
Whoop, whoop. We found it!
Yah, it was this cold.
A beach full of elephant seals basking in the sun.
Happy cows DO come from California.
We stopped at Cowgirl Creamy for some Mt Tam.
And had lunch at Mark’s favorite spot.
This is such a beautiful time of year to visit the coast. Besides spotting numerous wildflowers that made me squeak with happiness, we had a peregrine falcon whip by us in pursuit of a raven and spotted loons, grebes, and scoters diving in the ocean.
