Before I left in April I made a travel wish list. The list was mostly a by-product of reading wayyyyyy to many travel blogs, an affliction I still haven’t managed to shake, and I haven’t paid much attention to this list since I wrote it. Naturally, my list included a wildlife section and on the list were three animals: Komodo dragon, pangolin, and platypus.
Well this week my list came to mind because I saw a PANGOLIN!!
A Sunda Pangolin (Manis javanica) to be specific.
I have been intrigued by this animal since I learned of its existence in Mammalogy and watched “Life of Mammals” presented by Sir Davis Attenborough circa 2004.
I should mention that, though my list wasn’t specific, I want to see these animals in the wild not in captivity, so while it was awesome to see and hold a pangolin, my goal is still to spot one in the wild.
