This trip was supposed to be my grand finale for Nepal, volunteering one MORE time with All Hands, finally going trekking in the Langtang Valley, and wrapping up this chapter of my life. Instead I volunteered for 4 days then came down with a nasty cousin of pneumonia and went home months early. Not at all what I had planned!
Dom, from the All Hands marketing team, made this beautiful video about me coming back to Nepal. Before I left on this last trip I mentioned to an acquaintance that I was going back to Nepal to collect the parts of my heart I’d left behind on previous trips, but that I might end up leaving an even bigger piece behind. I think we all can guess what happened.
I am now home in Thailand and am forging incredible connections that will undoubtedly lead to great things. Things that couldn’t have happened if I were still in Nepal and I am happy to be moving forward.
My going away speech for All Hands (and Nepal) was and will always be the same, “this isn’t goodbye, it’s till next time.”
